Move an unused oil pan stud from any position, except hole L7. Remove oil pan bolt, see Figure 3, and install where oil pan stud was removed.
Install oil pan stud into where bolt was removed. Torque bolts to 13 N-m (114 in.lbs.).

Disconnect the wires to the starter.
9.
Route the wiring harness from in front and under the oil filter to over the top and behind the oil filter. Form the wires so they are flush against the
engine block.
10.
Connect the wires to the starter and oil level sensor.
11.
Attach the stud connected tie strap, PN 56017421, loosely to oil level sensor wires.
12.
Push the stud connector firmly onto the relocated oil pan stud.
13.
Pull the oil level sensor wires down toward the oil level sensor, to remove any slack. Tighten the stud connector tie strap to the oil level sensor
wires to prevent slippage.
14.
Lower vehicle. Connect negative battery cable.
15.
Start the engine several times to verify the "check oil level" message on the VIC (Vehicle Information Center does not appear.
Oil Level Sensor Replacement
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2.
Raise vehicle on hoist.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BREAK CONNECTOR LACKING TAB. THE TAB IS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN CIRCUIT CONTINUITY. THIS IS A 0.75 MILLIAMP
CIRCUIT.
3.
Drain the engine oil.
4.
Use a thin flat blade screw driver or equivalent to release the wiring connector locking tab inside the oil level sensor and disconnect the wires, see
Figure 1.
5.
Use a 1-1/8" socket and remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.
6.
Install the new oil level sensor, PN 56027061, and torque to 41 N-m (30 ft.lbs.). Connect wiring.
7.
Lower vehicle. Fill with oil to the specified level. Check for leaks.
